Given the rural location and distance between places, most of the time you’ll find that using a car is your fastest mode of travel but if you’re here for a while and fancy a break from using your car, why not use the park and ride or take a bus?

The Park and Ride to St Ives
Instead of taking the car you may want to use the Park and Ride service (train to St Ives) based at St Erth railway station (TR27 6JW) giving you an opportunity to see the coastline around Carbis Bay. There are 500+ parking spaces at the Park and ride and parking costs £3.70 to park all day (before 10am Mon-Fri) and then £2.30 at all other times. On top of this you’ll need a train ticket (£4 per adult). See www.greatscenicrailways.co.uk for the timetable and latest news.

Bus
Nancledra is served by the No 16 bus which runs between St Ives and Penzance via Nancledra. Download the ‘Go Cornwall Bus’ app to see the timetable or go to https://www.gocornwallbus.co.uk

The Tin Coaster bus
Take the hop on/hop off open top Tin Coaster bus to explore the coastline from St Ives to Lands End, Penzance and back to St Ives. Or start at Penzance. See the Tin Coaster site for timetable and more detail or click here to open the Tin Coaster leaflet.

Walking
If you'd like to walk to St Ives, it's about 3.6 miles and it'll take you about 1 1/4hrs . Because it's not advisable to walk along the B3311 (as there are no pavements and cars go quickly), instead leave here and head over towards Amalebra, then onto Towednack and along the Towednack Road into St Ives. Use this link to see the map and get the route directions. Aside from being the safest route, it's also a lovely country walk too.

There are some lovely country walks or jogging routes (!) to do from here, heading over towards Towednack. Please ask if you'd like further information on walks but for a quick run, head down the lane to the left with the river on your right.
